How many times have you heard someone say “just trust me” or “trust me I got you”? And how many times did you wind up disappointed? Well, I’m here to encourage you because God is not a man that he should lie. His promises are yes and amen! His word is settled and there is no changing in Him.

Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
— Proverbs 3:5-6Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

Today we are looking at the second word in our acronym for strategic, which is trust. Last week we talked about the first thing that we need to do in prayer is to surrender. However, God reminded me today that really the first thing we have to do is trust Him. It is only when we trust Him that we will fully surrender. Just like you would only give the keys to your brand new Range Rover to someone you trust, God wants us to give what is most precious to us, our lives, because we trust him. One of my favorite bible verses is Proverbs 3:5-6, which says “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all your ways and he will direct your path.” It is only when we totally rely on God that when we pray he will give us the strategies we need to fulfill his plan for our lives.

We can’t allow worry, anxiety and fear to cripple us, because that is the strategy of the enemy. We have to remember Philippians 4:6 which says, “be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God’. Anthony Brown & Group Therapy’s new single Trust In You sums it up best:

You did not create me to worry
You did not create me to fear
But You created me to worship - daily
So Ima leave it all right here

My hands are raised because I surrender
Your will is what's best for me
I worship You because You're Jehovah Jireh
I bow before the King of Kings

No more crying no more complaining
I believe Your word is true
Lord You promised never to leave me lonely
So this is what I'm going to do

I will trust in You Lord
I will trust in You Lord
I will put my trust in You

So, will you trust Him today? With everything? I guarantee if you do, you won’t be disappointed.

Until next week!

Be blessed, but first comes obedience!
